Humbrol Weathering Powders come in 45ml plastic tubs and build realistic dust, dirt and wear on models, figures and dioramas. They are non-hazardous, simple to use, and versatile: the same tub works dry, wet or mixed into paint.

Weathering powder: dry, wet or mixed
Applied dry, the powder dusts on with a brush and can be stippled into surfaces with a stipple brush. Applied wet, it moves by capillary action into corners and around raised detail. Mixed with Acrylic paints or Washes, it creates an array of effects. Powders also mix with each other to create different shades, so a handful of tubs covers a wide spread of dirt.
Fixing weathering powder in place
Loose powder stays loose until it is fixed. Set the finished effect with Matt Modelcote varnish or DecalFix, chosen by the situation you want to create; drying time depends on the application method.
Cleaning up after powder work
Clean-up follows whatever the powder was mixed with: water for powder worked into Acrylics, Enamel Thinners for powder mixed with Washes. Dry powder itself brushes off before fixing, which is also the practical way to pull an effect back if it has gone too heavy. The rest of the Weathering range covers washes.
